This Minnesotan has never understood the appeal of Snicker salad, nor a Jello "salad" with veggies/nuts floating in it. But a square of Jello pretzel salad is pretty tasty.
Hey that's me! Also, I was thinking, I like the casserole version of meat-starch-cheese than I do the skillet version. So those Midwesterners are definitely on to something with this.
I can see how the candy bar salad might work- like a really sweet Waldorf salad sans celery and grapes? Living in the south I have come to embrace things labeled as “salads” (jello/cool whip) and “vegetables” (Mac & cheese/ fat back) that don’t belong anywhere in the food pyramid!
